When Things Go "Right" (originally written 6/23/11)

Late last night, I returned home from a two-day jaunt to NYC (Lindsay is still in Italy). It was a hectic two days as I met with all kinds of people of various capacities in producing our show. The first stop was to meet a phenomenal young woman who will be part of our crew of social media volunteers. We met her at Pain Quotidian at Bryant Park and had a fabulous discussion about Jane Austen and our love of Pride and Prejudice. As we drank our coffee, we talked about ways to enhance some of our ideas to make people aware of our show. She had great ideas that we are going to incorporate, including a Tea Party will will be arranging at Alice's Tea Cup ... fantastic! She's currently an English major (and a rising Junior in college) who lives in New York City. Amazingly beautiful and will tweet as "Mary Bennet" or "Lady Catherine".

From there, it was on to Havana Central off of 46th... There I met with our director, Igor Goldin and Martino Fernandez, who is helping us produce the show. It was great fun to touch base and discuss the addition of our General Manager, talk about the fundraising, marketing, and to regroup as we head into the next phase of the process as people come on board.

After this meeting, I headed up to 86th to spend the evening with one of our biggest supporters and fellow Jane-ite. At her beautiful apartment, we laid out plans to pursue more support for the NYMF opportunity with fellow Jane-ites. What is really important through our process of producing our show at NYMF is to bring awareness of our beloved Jane Austen Society of North America. People who love Jane Austen and her novels would SO enjoy being part of this society. Amazing people are part of this organization ... and they are wild about our dear Jane!

The next morning, we met for breakfast where we met with another supporter who has agreed to provide the printing for our NYMF program inserts. And through this discussion, more ideas were generated ... It was an exciting conversation filled with potential...

After that, it was on to the NYMF office to pick up signed contracts and then a quick visit to see our agent. Overall, a fulfilling day ... and then to catch the train back to Rochester!

Throughout these marvelous two days, it seems the more we talk to people, the more we find people want to help ... and when there are many hands to help ... that's when things go "right"!
